Where The Blues Lives In KC's East Bottoms

Joe Smith

It's the place where performers as diverse as Nick Low, Merle Hagard and Carrie Rodriguez play when they hit town.

Music lovers in Kansas City know Knuckleheads as the ol' saloon down by the railroad tracks. In the first part of Friday's Up to Date, we'll talk about the blues and honky-tonk roadhouse in the East Bottoms with owner Frank Hicks.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
