By this point, you've surely heard that there's going to be a total solar eclipse across the United States on Aug. 21. If not, here are some links to help you get up to speed.

The Great American Eclipse of 2017 is cause for celebration, especially for Missourians. The last time the state saw a total solar eclipse was in 1869. And plenty of folks are expected to surge into the state to catch a glimpse of the moon passing in front of the Sun.
With that in mind, here are some watch parties, activities and other events you can join to get the most out of the eclipse. Keep in mind that all of these activities could sell out, fill up or simply be swamped with attendees. If you're traveling on highways, be aware that traffic will almost certainly be awful.
Also keep in mind that this is not an exhaustive list. You can pretty much find an eclipse watch party in every city around the metro and beyond (as long as it's near the path of totality).
