Where Did That Lead Go? Pres Hopefuls Inch Closer

Kansas City, Mo. – McCain and Obama are nearly neck and neck in Missouri.
The Democratic Presidential candidate appears to be pulling even with Republican John McCain's advantage in the state. This week's St.Louis Post-Dispatch KMOV survey of 800 likely voters finds McCain has 47 percent, Barack Obama 46. A week earlier, McCain held a four point lead. Both polls had a margin of error of plus or minus three and a half percentage points. Slightly more than a quarter said they trusted Obama the most to handle the nation's economic crisis while 20 percent favored McCain. The opinion testing was conducted by the Maryland-based Research 2000.
In he Missouri governor's race, the latest poll shows Democratic candidate Jay Nixon increasing his lead over Republican Congressman Kenny Hulshof from seven points a week ago, to a current nine percentage points. This latest reading shows Nixon with 51 points to Hulshof's 42.
