Trumpet Player and Hip Hop Producer Miles Bonny

Miles Bonny first took up the trumpet because of his father. Francis Bonny, who now plays in Broadway musicals, instilled in his son a love of jazz and classical music that now influences Miles' work as a hip hop producer and performer.

Kansas City, MO – Alex Smith spoke with Miles Bonny on a chilly Friday night at the Spitfire Grill on 39th street where he regularly DJs. While he prepared for a night of spinning classic soul and jazz records, Bonny explained that he actually wasn't named after the legendary jazz trumpet player.
