The South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference & Festival wraps up this weekend in Austin, Texas.

This week the SXSW Music and Media Conference is showcasing hundreds of musical acts from around the globe.

By day, conference attendees do business in the SXSW Trade Show in the Austin Convention Center and partake of a full agenda of panel discussions featuring hundreds of speakers. Beginning in the afternoon, those bands strut their stuff on over eighty stages in downtown Austin.

Guest host Stephen Steigman welcomes Steve Wilson from Kief's Downtown Music in Lawrence and writer for KCFreePress.com and KCUR Music Coordinator and Morning Edition Host Michael Byars to play some of their favorite new music of 2010 and highlight a number of Kansas City-area bands showcasing their talent at SXSW.
