Hydroponic Greenhouse To Grace Riverfront
This year the landscape will change dramatically along the banks of the Missouri River just Northeast of Kansas City’s downtown. A hundred thousand square feet of greenhouses are planned for growing produce for a local supermarket chain.  Learn more about the project here.

Missouri House Set To Begin Budget Debate
The Missouri House will begin debate Tuesday on the 13 bills that make up next year’s state budget. The three bills that encompass the state’s Medicaid program don’t include Governor Jay Nixon’s proposed expansion, although House Democrats may try to offer amendments to change that.  Read more here.

Missouri GOP Floats Alternative Medicaid Proposal

Supporters and opponents spent several hours Monday testifying on an alternate Medicaid proposal being floated by House Republicans.  The bill would expand Medicaid coverage to an additional 180,000 Missourians while removing about 44,000 children from the Medicaid rolls.  Learn more about the proposal here.

Kansas House Looks At Revamping Court Docket Fees

The Kansas House has narrowly approved a change in how some state programs are funded. Certain programs receive money from docket fees paid in the court system, but a bill in the House would instead put that docket fee money in the state general fund. Find out more about the fees here.
