Kansas prepares to move the state agriculture department from Topeka to Manhattan.  A Missouri Senate committee has wrapped up work on a new criminal code, but it may be too late to get it passed by the legislature. A missing five-year-old girl was found unharmed.  The Kansas City Royals win their home opener.

Kansas Moves Agriculture Department

The Kansas Secretary of Agriculture says he’s moving most of state Agriculture Department to Manhattan. Secretary Dale Rodman says the agriculture in Kansas will benefit from being part of what he’s calling “the synergies” between Kansas State University and a burgeoning animal and plant science industry.  Learn more here.

Missouri May Have Missed Opportunity To Revise Criminal Code

A Missouri Senate committee has wrapped up nearly a full month of hearings into a bill that would revise the state’s criminal code.  It would create a new class of felonies and misdemeanors, give judges more flexibility in sentencing, and modernize the language used in the criminal code. Find out more here.

Missing Five-Year-Old Girl Found Unharmed

A little girl, missing and presumed kidnapped, has been found safe in Kansas City’s Northland. Gladstone Police say 5-year-old Lili Justine High vanished from her father’s home late Sunday and was thought to have been taken by a visitor who knew the child’s mother and father.  Read morehere.
