Tell KCUR: What Should The World Series Bet Be Between San Francisco, Kansas City?

Five-hundred pounds of Rice-A-Roni?

A trolley car for Kansas City's new streetcar line?

C’mon, Kansas City. We want to know what you think San Francisco should pony up if the Royals beat the Giants in the World Series. And what should Kansas City dish out if the Royals lose?

When the Baltimore Orioles lost to the Royals last week, sending the boys in blue to the World Series, some optimistic Maryland baseball fans had to eat their words.  And the Kansas City Police Department was on deck to eat some Maryland crab cakes, courtesy the Baltimore Police Department.

Kansas City and Baltimore police each bet famous cuisine from their hometowns if their teams lost the American League Championship Series. Kansas City officers would have been on the hook for sending some barbecue if the Royals had lost.

The cities’ mayors also posed friendly challenges, with Mayor Sly James of Kansas City, Mo., calling for Baltimore’s blue crab cakes to be renamed royal blue crab cakes. If Baltimore won, the city’s mayor, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, wanted to light up our city hall in orange.

Whatever wagers surface between Kansas City and San Francisco officials in the coming days over the outcome of the Royals-Giants faceoff, we want you to get creative.
