Suspension for Student Speaking Spanish in School

Kansas City, KS – The family of a teenager in Kansas City Kansas filed a lawsuit in federal court last week accusing the Turner Unified School District of violating his civil rights. The student, 16-year-old Zach Rubio, was suspended from his high school for a day and a half for speaking Spanish in the hallway. Sylvia Maria Gross reports.
