Kansas City, MO – At StoryCorps recording booths across the country, friends and loved ones interview each other about their lives. Each Wednesday during Morning Edition, we'll bring you a story from the MobileBooth in Kansas City.

Law clerk Brigette Mitchell spoke with her boss, federal judge Scott Wright, about his life and career. Wright tells Mitchell about continuing to work as a judge into his 80s and how he got selected to preside over the lawsuits following the Hyatt Regency Skywalk collapse.

Storycorps in Kansas City is sponsored by the William T. Kemper Foundation, Commerce Bank, Trustee.

KCUR prides ourselves on bringing local journalism to the public without a paywall — ever.

Our reporting will always be free for you to read. But it's not free to produce.
