School Board Member Rethinks District Governance

By Sylvia Maria Gross

KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City School Board member Bill Eddy thinks it might be time for a big shake-up. Eddy, who's been an at-large member since 2004, has decided not to run again - leaving his opponent Airick Leonard West to run against a handful of write-in candidates.

In a column in the Kansas City Star, Bill Eddy, who's also a former dean of UMKC's Bloch School of Management, says he plans to explore some alternate forms of governance for the district. He stopped by KCUR and talked to Sylvia Maria Gross about why he originally decided to run for the school board four years ago.
