St. Paul, MN – Alaska Governor Sarah Palin proved she could give as well as she gets - accepting the Republican nomination for Vice President with a feisty speech attacking Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama and the media. Melinda Wittstock has more from St. Paul.

They say offense is the best defense: and it's a winning strategy with the GOP faithful. They hollered and cheered as Alaska Governor Sarah Palin took aim at those who say she doesn't have the experience to be a heart-beat away from the Presidency.
Jim Chapel is a delegate from Kansas City.
CHAPEL: I think Sarah Palin is a home run politically and I think she is a competent individual everybody's just thrilled to death over her.
It was the first time Americans have heard Palin talk policy. She avoided signature issues like abortion and abstinence education and reached out for moderates with a focus on energy independence:
PALIN: We're going to lay more pipelines...build more nuclear plants...create jobs with clean coal...and move forward on solar, wind, geothermal, and other alternative sources. We need American energy resources, brought to you by American ingenuity, and produced by American workers."
Jason Brown is an Iraq veteran and Missouri state representative:
JASON BROWN: I think what America has realized is that she is not only qualified to lead she is ready to lead and America is looking for a new face with a new attitude and it has come from the outside of politics.
Tonight Senator John McCain accepts the nomination.
