A New Take on Grafitti in the Northeast

In another corner of Kansas City's third district, James Elementary School is trying out an interesting solution to the area's increasing graffiti problem. http://stream.publicbroadcasting.net/production/mp3/national/local-national-620198.mp3

Administrators decided to allow graffiti artists to come and paint a mural on one of the school's walls with the hope that neighborhood youth would respect the painting enough to leave it alone. KCUR's Jennifer Galt has more on this new approach to graffiti.

Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.
