Parents have to be vigilant in finding the best seating option for their child. Children's constantly changing height and weight affects their needs in a car seat.

Kansas City has its fair share of historic buildings, but they're not always easy to find and appreciate. Today, learn how a new guidebook is bringing these sites to people's attention. Then, pediatrician Dr. Natasha Burgert and Shannon Bernal of Children's Mercy share tips for proper car seat use. Find out when your kid is ready for a car seat, and when they're big enough to move out of one.

Brad Wolfe will present the Kansas City's Historic Preservation Commission's updated guidebook at the Central Branch of the Kansas City Public Library at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 22. For more information, visit KCLibrary.org.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
