Kansas City, Missouri – A recently released national report on pedestrian safety called Mean Streets2004 identified Kansas City as among the most dangerous cities in the country for walkers...and THE most dangerous city in Missouri.
The report highlights some of the problems rapidly expanding metropolitan areas like Kansas City have faced developing alternatives to cars. But it also suggests officials here could do more to fully embrace the challenge of creating a community friendly to walkers.
