Lester Goldman, a Professor of Painting at the Kansas City Art Institute for nearly 40 years before his death in 2005, was a prolific artist and worked in painting, sculpture, performance, and set design. In September 2007, Goldman's family, friends and former students began cataloguing his work. By Laura Spencer

Kansas City, MO – KCUR's Laura Spencer talked to Lester Goldman's wife, Kathrin, who says it was a daunting task and one that was spurred along by the opportunity to use a temporary warehouse space where thousands of works will be on display, and on sale, during an open house this weekend.
This exhibit of paintings, sculpture and drawings by the late Lester Goldman will be open to the public from Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19.
Due to positive public response, "Lester Goldman: A Life's Work," has been extended and will be on display January 26 from Noon to 5 p.m.; Saturdays throughout February from Noon to 5; and on Friday, Feb. 1 from 5 to 8 p.m.; or by appointment.
