Kansas City, MO – This weekend, a car show and a couple of concerts in Kansas City will bring together groups of people generally considered to be on opposite ends of the social spectrum. Middle aged farmers from places like Bethany, Missouri will be whooping it up with Lawrence punk rockers at the annual Kowtown Custom Greaserama. Though they may not vote, dress or talk much alike, the attendees share a reverence for Detroit iron, and a distain for plastic, consumer culture.
The Kowtown Custom Car show will be Sunday, at the El Torreon Ballroom, 31st and Gilliam. Bloodshot Bill and other Rockabilly, Surf and garage bands will play there Saturday and Sunday night. There's a kick off show tonight at Davey's Uptown Ramblers Club, at 34th and Main.
