Kansas lawmakers will not try to override Governor Kathleen Sebelius' veto of a bill authorizing two coal-fired power plants. House Speaker Melvin Neufeld said that there would not be enough members attending the adjournment session to muster the needed votes. Union members at GM-Fairfax began voting today on a deal to end a 3-week-old strike. The two sides came to a tentative agreement last night on the seniority issues on which they were divided. The KCATA will get $2.16 million to conduct a Light Rail Alternative Analysis for the Kansas City area. General Manager Mark Huffer credits the efforts Senator Kit Bond and Congressman Emanuel Cleaver.
