As the centennial of the United States' entry into the First World War approaches, eyes across the globe are on Kansas City, Missouri.

Today, we learn how the National World War I Museum and Memorial is commemorating the occasion, and who you can expect to see at the event.

The national ceremony "In Sacrifice for Liberty and Peace" takes place at the World War I Museum and Memorial on Thursday, April 6. Tickets are sold out, but live-streaming services will be available starting at 9 am CDT.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
