Kansas City Youth Jazz and conductor Leon Brady prepare for this Sunday's performance with legendary trumpeter Clark Terry at Unity Temple on the Plaza.

Kansas City, KS – It's been a busy week at the Brady Music Studio, where teenage jazz musicians have been preparing for a workshop and concert with legendary trumpet player Clark Terry. When Alex Smith asked the members of Kansas City Youth Jazz about Terry, he found that most of the high school students have done their homework.

Alex Smith spoke with Kansas City Youth Jazz director Leon Brady whose top band of high school musicians will perform with Clark Terry with Sunday at Unity Temple on the Plaza.

Mr. Terry became ill shortly after arriving in Kansas City and was unable to perform. He was sent to KU Medical Center and has been recovering there.
