Kansas Arts Commission Employees Laid Off, Office Closed

The governor's administration has laid off all five employees of the Kansas Arts Commission. In a letter issued Tuesday, May 10, Secretary of Administration Dennis Taylor informed the employees that they would be let go in 30 days.

Topeka, KS – The governor's administration has laid off all five employees of the Kansas Arts Commission. In a letter issued Tuesday, May 10, Secretary of Administration Dennis Taylor informed the employees that they would be let go in 30 days. As KPR Statehouse reporter Stephen Koranda tells us, the Arts Commission's future has been uncertain, since a proposal to eliminate the agency earlier this year.
