Jazz Relocation Project Brings in Second Artist

Cultural Convention and Visitors Bureau President Anita Dixon says her vision of 12th Street, from the Paseo to Brooklyn, is as an enclave for jazz artists.

Kansas City, MO – Cultural Convention and Visitors Bureau President Anita Dixon says her vision of 12th Street, from the Paseo to Brooklyn, is as an enclave for jazz artists. Last year, Dixon worked on the dedication of the Goin? to Kansas City Plaza on 12th and Vine, and also helped spearhead an artist relocation project which brought in its first musician, Los Angeles alto saxophonist Bobby Bryant, to Kansas City just about a year ago. Now, the project is bringing in a second musician, vocalist and songwriter Jeff Robinson who grew up in Brooklyn, and now lives in Los Angeles. Robinson is expected to move to Kansas City next month. KCUR?s Laura Spencer talked to Anita Dixon about the project.
