Jackson County To Vote On Charter Revisions
Jackson County voters will decide whether to approve revisions to the county charter on Tuesday's primary ballot. The amended charter was developed by a task force chaired by former Kansas City Mayor Kay Barnes.
See the revisions on the Jackson County website: each reference to a "chairman" has been replaced by a "chairperson" and "he" is made gender neutral. But besides making the document more politically correct, the revisions are also intended to "clean up" the way Jackson County conducts business.
KCUR's Susan Wilson caught up with County Executive Mike Sanders, who's pushed for many of these changes.
