ESPN Details More Of Andre McGee's Role in Louisville Scandal

A new report says five former players and recruits say McGee paid for strippers at on-campus parties.

This story was updated at 2:45 pm to include comments from UMKC officials.

Right now, things don't look good for UMKC men's assistant basketball coach Andre McGee.

A new report from ESPN's 'Outside the Lines' program corroborates allegations made by a self-described former escort that McGee paid her to provide strippers and sex for players and recruits. In the documentary, a portion of which aired Tuesday on ABC's "Good Morning America", Powell says McGee paid her $10,000 for "side deals", including sex with some players.

The report goes on to say at least five former players and recruits said they attended parties on Louisville's campus between 2010 and 2014 that included strippers paid for by McGee.

Former Cardinals recruit JaQuan Lyle, who now attends Ohio State University, also told NCAA investigators that the "gist of allegations" made by Powell was true. CBS Sports reports Lyle met with NCAA officials earlier this month.

McGee came to UMKC in April 2014 after spending four seasons on the staff at Louisville. For his final two seasons under Cardinals' Coach Rick Pitino, he served as Director of Basketball Operations. McGee played for Louisville from 2005 to 2009.

Earlier this month, when Powell's allegations first surfaced in her book "Breaking Cardinal Rules: Basketball and the Escort Queen", UMKC put McGee on paid administrative leave.

In a statement, a UMKC official said after the ESPN report aired: "Andre McGee remains on administrative leave. We will have not further comment on this matter."
