Frank Morris

KCUR 89.3

Monday's bombing in Manchester, England, shows the global war on terrorism has been unsuccessful thus far in stopping extremist violence. Today, former Department of State advisor Steven Koltai suggests a new approach to stopping the bloodshed: encouraging entrepreneurship. Then, we continue the conversation surrounding a proposed redesign of KCI, and get Kansas City Mayor Sly James' thoughts on a new single-terminal proposal from architecture and engineering firm Burns & McDonnell.

Steven Koltai discusses his book "Peace through Entrepreneurship: Investing in a Startup Culture for Security and Developmentat the Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24. For more information, visit KCLibrary.org.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
