Colombian Empanadas are a Family Affair

Even after setting up life in a new country, many immigrants continue to experience a daily taste of home by cooking in traditional style.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Three Kansas City women -- a grandmother, a mother, and a daughter -- keep their Colombian roots alive in the kitchen. Martha Gonzalez, her daughter Julia Gonzalez, and her mother Rosalea Carmona made beef empanadas for the Colombia booth at last weekend's Ethnic Enrichment Festival.
