The Clock Is Ticking: Surviving A Stroke

Would you be able to recognize the symptoms of a stroke? If you can, you may be able to save someone’s life.

This year, about seven hundred thousand Americans will have a stroke, and one-quarter of stroke victims will die from the attack. However, with quick response and treatment, survival rates and recovery improve dramatically.

Wednesday on Up to Date, Steve Kraske talks with St. Luke's Neuroscience Institute physicians Dr. Cole Martin, MD and Dr. Brad Steinle, MD about diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating those who have suffered from strokes, as well as those who are caring for loved ones.

Have you or a family member suffered - and survived - a stroke? We'd like to hear from you. Join the conversation. Call 816 235 2888 during the show, email uptodate@kcur.org, Tweet us @KCURUptoDate, or join KCUR's Facebook discussion.
