Topeka, KS – Kansas Senator Sam Brownback will NOT give the nominating speech tonight for the Republican vice presidential nominee. Instead, the job of introducing Alaska Governor Sara Palin at the convention will go to the governor of the nation's other non-contiguous state, Republican Linda Lingle of Hawaii. Brownback was originally scheduled to give the vice presidential nominating speech, but those plans were changed after the convention schedule was altered because of Hurricane Gustav. According to officials in his senate office, Brownback is now slated to be one of four people speaking Thursday night to introduce presidential nominee John McCain.
