In the play Broke-ology at the Kansas City Repertory Theatre (February 21 - March 21, 2010), playwright Nathan Jackson explores the difficulties facing a member of the Kansas City, Kansas community as he struggles with family illness and attending college.

The hero of the play becomes an expert in what he calls "broke-ology" - that is, being broke, but staying alive.
