Game three of the American League Championship Series is scheduled to start Monday night at 7:07 between the Kansas City Royals and the Baltimore Orioles.
With a lead of 2-0 in the best-of-seven series, designated hitter Billy Butler says momentum is building toward the Royals reaching the World Series for the first time since 1985.
“We know that we haven’t lost in the playoffs,” said Butler on Sunday afternoon when the Royals worked out at Kauffman Stadium. “I don’t think that’s really our goal in mind. We’re just taking it pitch to pitch. We’re trying to win each pitch. We’re trying to win each at-bat. We’ve been able to succeed at that.”
Teammate Jarrod Dyson told ESPN.com that he doesn’t feel the series will return to Baltimore for games six and seven. That would mean that Royals would win the ALCS either Tuesday or Wednesday in Kansas City. Jeremy Guthrie makes the start on the mound for the Royals Monday night.
