Fall festival season is upon us, and the Kansas City area is gearing up for a busy couple of months. We've gathered up a few of the many celebrations that focus on local history and harvest time.

Lenexa Spinach Festival, Sept. 6 at Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park in Lenexa, Kan.
History exhibits, craft fair, massive spinach salad, cooking demos

Johnson County Old Settlers Days, Sept. 4-6 in downtown Olathe, Kan.
Antique auto show flower show, parade, craft fair and music

American Royal, various events from Sept. 4-Nov. 15 at Kemper Arena
Livestock show, rodeo, parade and barbeque contest

Concordia Fall Festival, Sept. 2-6 in Concordia, Mo.
German food, parades, bake sale, carnival

Louisburg Ciderfest, Sept. 27-28 and Oct. 4-5 at the Louisburg Cider Mill in Louisburg, Kan.
Corn maze, pumpkin patch, craft fair and apple cider-- hot, cold or frozen

Lee’s Summit Oktoberfest, Sept. 26-27 at 3rd Street and SW Main Street in Lee's Summit, Mo.
Biergarten, carnival, craft show and German dancing and food 

Grand Festival of Chez lez Canses, Sept. 29 at 107 Osage St., Sibley, Mo.
Historical reenactments of 18th-century French settlers' lives

Applefest, Oct. 4-5, in downtown Weston, Mo.
