News Director (KCUR)
KCUR is looking for an experienced journalist and impactful leader to oversee the day-to-day news operation and reporting. The News Director’s primary responsibility will be to ensure efficiency in the workflow and distribution of journalism for digital, broadcast, social media, streaming and on-demand platforms.
The ideal candidate for this role has superior organizational skills and high journalistic standards. They should be energized by the pace of daily news, driven to produce ambitious and enterprising journalism and have experience in leading newsrooms. Having excellent news judgment and being a clear and consistent communicator are both essential qualities for this job. The News Director should have a record of leading investigations and planning coverage of major news events.

Midwest Newsroom fellow (Iowa Public Radio)
The Midwest Newsroom is awarding a 12-month reporting fellowship to cover immigration policy and its impact on individuals and communities. If you want to be on the forefront of covering one of the biggest issues of our time, this is your opportunity to do so with the support of a strong team of editors and a data journalist.
We’re looking for a journalist who has been covering immigration through previous reporting. This person will amplify voices that often go unheard, dig for answers and craft compelling narratives for audio and digital audiences. The job will combine investigative and accountability projects and short-term stories based on partner needs.
This position is based at Iowa Public Radio in Des Moines. IPR will accept applications through 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2026.
