Kansas City Parks and Recreation plan to open their water parks, pools and spraygrounds, some with improvements, on Saturday. But first, the water has to be warm enough.
Doug Schroeder, Director of Golf Services and Aquatics, says they can’t open the pools until water temperatures reach 70 degrees.
“We have concerns, especially with the weather for the next few days not being that warm and with the chances of rain, that the pool temperatures might not get up to the required 70 degrees,” says Schroeder.
