The Worst Gigs In Rock 'N' Roll

worstgig.com

It's hard to imagine Def Leppard, John Mayer, or any other rock musician having a bad day, but Jon Niccum begs to differ.

On Friday's Up to Date, Steve Kraske talks with the music journalist who’s gathered stories of the most horrible experiences ever from some of the biggest names in rock and roll. The Worst Gig: From Psycho Fans to Stage Riots, Famous Musicians Tell All chronicles everything from surly bouncers to skinhead riots to projectile vomiting. We'll find out how Niccum started down the path that has him asking every musician he interviews, "What's the worst show you've ever played?"

Guests

  • Jon Niccum is the former Entertainment Editor at the Lawrence Journal-World daily newspaper and Music Editor at The Pitch. Currently, he is a frequent entertainment contributor for the Kansas City Star.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
