Maybe the allegedly tall, dark  and handsome man you connected with online after hundreds of emails turned out to be a dud.

Or perhaps the woman who gave you a five-star rating on OKCupid.com was so wonderful, you ended up marrying her.

As our Generation Listen KC group for millennials gears up for its Wednesday storytelling event with NPR, "Storied: The Science of Online Dating," we wanted to get the conversation started early.

Tell KCUR: What are your online dating success and horror stories?

Tweet your answers with the #TellKCUR hashtag  or go to our Facebook page and leave your answer in a comment. You also can leave us a message at 816-235-2881. Or email your answers to social@kcur.org.

We’ll share your stories Thursday online and on the air during KCUR’s daily talk show Central Standard, which starts at 10 a.m.

Tell KCUR is part of an initiative to engage the community and shine a light on your experiences and opinions. We’ll ask a new question every week and then share your feedback on the air and online. Everyone has knowledge and insight to share. Be a part of our Tell KC source network and let us know more about your expertise.

KCUR prides ourselves on bringing local journalism to the public without a paywall — ever.

Our reporting will always be free for you to read. But it's not free to produce.

As a nonprofit, we rely on your donations to keep operating and trying new things. If you value our work, consider becoming a member.
