Royals Fanfest 2013 (Kansas City Royals fan event, featuring autograph sessions with past and present Royals players), 9 to 11 a.m. (season ticket holders only), 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (all fans) Saturday at the Overland Park Convention Center, 6000 College Boulevard in  Overland Park. Admission: $14 adults, $8 ages 6-17

Big Central Barista Competition (Baristas from 16 states compete to move on to the U.S. Barista Championship), 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at The Guild KC, 1621 Locust. Admission: Free
