The Weekend To-Do List

Looking for something to do the weekend of June 8 to 10, 2012?  Brian McTavish is back with Up to Date's Weekend To-Do List.

“In the Heights”: 2008 Tony Award-winning Best Musical. 8 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at Starlight Theatre in Swope Park. Tickets: $10-$85

Sugar Creek Slavic Festival: Traditional Slavic food, music and dance Mike Onka Memorial Building grounds, 11520 E. Putnam, Sugar Creek. 5 to 11:30 p.m. Friday, 3 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Admission: $3; free to kids 11 and younger

Brothers of the Sun Tour featuring Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw: 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. Tickets: $35-$270

West 18th Street Fashion Show: Models strut outdoor runway in duds created by 18 local designers following horse-racing theme. 8 p.m. Saturday on West 18th Street, between cross streets of Baltimore and Wyandotte. Admission: Free (standing room only), $100 (VIP Front Row), $40 (second and third rows)

10th Annual Waldo Crawldo: 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday, pub crawl of 24 Waldo neighborhood watering holes. Tickets: $5 in advance, $10 at the door;

Summer Beer Festival. 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday on Pennsylvania Avenue between McCoy’s and Kelly’s in Westport. Tickets: $25 in advance, $30 at the door.

Brian McTavish follows popular culture in the belief that the search for significance can lead anywhere.
