Two Quilt Exhibits Explore Inspiration and Interpretation

Artists have always been inspired and influenced by other artists. Bob Dylan cited Woody Guthrie as an inspiration. For Mick Jagger, it was Leadbelly. Two new exhibits of quilts at the Belger Arts Center explore the line between inspiration and interpretation.

Kansas City, MO – The Belger Arts Center, 2100 Walnut, Kansas City, Missouri, opens two quilt exhibits on July 11, 2008. The exhibits, "Inspiration: African-America Quilts from the Collection of Maude Wahlman," and "Interpretation: Silver Screen Quilts by Sun Smith-Foret" are curated by Christina Wahlman. Both exhibits will run through October 3, 2008.
