By Elana Gordon and Laura Spencer

Kansas City, MO – Just after noon today, a tornado touched down in Sedalia, Missouri. Heavy damage is reported in some parts of the city. According to the Sedalia Democrat, early reports include damage along U.S. 65 and debris throughout the area.

Sergeant Collin Stosberg of the Missouri Highway Patrol says they're responding to damage reported in a four block area on the southeast edge of the city. "Currently there are 20 troopers on the scene working on setting up command post...still going house to house in that area. At 36th Street and Grand Avenue, we're looking for injuries."

The Sedalia Democrat also reports the First Student school bus barn and the buses inside it were damaged. According to Associated Press, there are 15 minor injuries and no reported fatalities.
