Budget Stalemate Drags On In Jefferson City

The Missouri HouseandSenateare still at an impasse over next year’s state budget.  The Senate has made no progress on persuadingJasonCrowell(R, Cape Girardeau) to stop blocking every bill in the Senate, including one to fund veterans’ homes. Find out more here.

Kansas House Committee Redraws Senate Districts

A Kansas House Committee has approved a map that redraws districts for the Kansas Senate.  Opponents of the new map say it was drawn to help conservative challengers defeat moderate members of the Senate.  House leaders claim the map the Senate had drawn for itself had problems and protected moderate Republicans from challengers.  Listen to more here.

Where’s Rush?  Location Of Limbaugh Sculpture Unclear

Rumors swept the Missouri Capitol that the bust of conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh was being delivered, along with the bust of former slave Dred Scott.  Kansas City-based sculptor, E. Spencer Schubert, made a post to his websitetoday indicating he was transporting both busts to the Capitol – but the post was later altered to remove the reference to Limbaugh.  Read more here.
