Possible Tornadoes Rip Through Midwest

At least one person has been killed in southwest Missouri as possible tornadoes rolled through the Midwest, causing numerous injuries and significant damage.  Read more about damage in Branson and Missouri here.

The central Kansas town of Harveyville was also hit.  Kansas Governor Sam Brownback declared a state of emergency there.  Read more about here.

Kansas Lawmakers Could Slow Brownback’s Medicaid Plan

Legislators could soon take action aimed at slowing Governor Sam Brownback's plan to overhaul Medicaid in Kansas.  hat's according to Paul Davis, from Lawrence, the top Democrat in the Kansas House. Davis says he's talked to both Republicans and Democrats who have concerns about the proposal.

Candidates Line Up To File For Office

Candidates for the U.S. Senate, Congress, Missouri General Assembly, Governor  and other statewide offices can now file to run. Hundreds flocked to Jefferson City today and lined up outside the doors of the Secretary of State’s officeto file their paperwork.  Read more here.
