Long-time journalist, author, and talk show host Walt Bodine died early Sunday morning at the age of 92.  The Kansas House and Senate prepare to negotiate budget and tax bills.  KU moves on to the Sweet 16.

Walt Bodine Dies At 92

Long-time journalist, author and talk show host Walt Bodine died early Sunday morning. He was 92. According to his family, Bodine died peacefully after spending Saturday visiting with family, friends and colleagues.  Learn more here about Walt’s life and influence on Kansas City.

When Grain Elevators Explode

When the Bartlett Grain Co. elevator exploded in Atchison, Kan., in October 2011, the town’s 11,000 residents knew it immediately.  In the nearly 17 months since the accident, some of those closest to the victims are frustrated that authorities have yet to conclusively lay blame for the cause of the accident.  And some of them want criminal charges brought against Bartlett Grain Co.  Read more of the story here.

Kansas Conference Committees Negotiate Budget and Tax Bills

The Kansas House and Senate have passed their versions of both budget and tax plans, but there's still plenty of work ahead. The two chambers will now try to smooth out differences between the plans.

KU Overcomes North Carolina 70-58

The Tarheels season is over after the loss to KU at the Sprint Center.  Meanwhile, the Jayhawks move on to Arlington, Texas.  They’ll play in the Sweet 16 against Michigan Friday night.
