Resolution Reached Between Downtown Vendors And All-Star Game

A conflict with Major League Baseball that could have disrupted two successive “First Friday” events in the Crossroads Arts District has been resolved.  Baseball officials have agreed to revisions in the restrictions they first asked for, and the city council approved ordinances reflecting the revised plan.

Kansas House Committee Advances Abortion Bill

A Kansas House committee has advanced wide-reaching anti-abortion legislation. The Federal and State Affairs Committee approved the so-called No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act after several weeks of work.   Listen to the story here.

Kobach Criticized Over His Calendar

A voters’ rights coalition is criticizing Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, saying he doesn’t spend enough time on his official duties.  Kobach says he does help states and local governments write legislation aimed at curbing illegal immigration – but only during his free time.  Find out more here.
