Missouri Governor Jay Nixon stops in Springfield to push for his plan for state colleges and universities.  Missouri lawmakers hear debate about a proposed right-to-work bill.  The University of Kansas in Lawrence is changing its core requirements.

Nixon Pushes For More Money For Universities

Calling it the best economic development tool for the state, Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon reiterated his proposal for an additional $34 million in higher education funding during a stop in Springfield.  Read more about his plan here.

Right To Work Bill Debated In Missouri

Supporters and opponents of legislation that would make Missouri a right-to-work state crowded into a hearing room Wednesday at the State Capitol.  The bill would forbid workers from being forced to join unions or pay union dues as a condition of employment. Find out more here.

KU Changes Core Curriculum Requirements

Starting this fall, basic curriculum requirements will change for undergraduates at the University of Kansas.  As of now, each school – whether it is the School of Health Professions or the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences – sets its own requirements.  Some are pretty extensive and specific.  Learn more about the new requirements here.
