“Rehabilitation” is a buzzword in the prison system. But how effective are current practices in keeping former inmates from ending up behind bars again?

Monday on Up to Date guest host Brian Ellison welcomes guests to talk about “Reaching Out From Within,” a recidivism reduction program in Kansas correctional facilities.

We'll hear the stories of former inmates who participated in the program, talk with a facilitator who has assisted prisoners manage anger, behavior, and develop their own sense of self-worth, and we’ll explore why organizers say it’s a vital part of inmate reintegration with the community.
