Kansas City, MO – Daniel Avazpour has spent most of his adult life working as a sculptor and scenic designer, but his latest project finds him spending a lot of time in the kitchen. At his studio in the Arts Incubator in the Crossroads, KCUR's Susan B. Wilson recently sat in for some lessons in Persian cooking. Avazpour's father is from Iran and uses his parents' 25 year old recipes.
He started with Morg Tanoori, a chicken stew with garlic, raisins and potatoes.
Daniel Avazpour's new Persian food delivery service is called The Hideaway. You can see some of his visual art at the Leedy-Voulkos Arts Center, 2012 Baltimore, Kansas City, Missouri as part of a show next month.
