Parents, Teens & The Transition To High School

Going back to school after a long summer is tough for many students, but even more difficult for those moving from middle to high school.

School buildings change, attitudes change, and the transition from adolescence to adulthood begins.

Tuesday on Up to Date Steve Kraske welcomes psychologist Wes Crenshaw to discuss how parents can make the transition easier, and offers advice to help make relationships between parent and child stronger.

Do you have advice for parents of children transitioning from adolescence to adulthood? Join the conversation: call 816 235 2888 during the show, email uptodate@kcur.org, Tweet us @KCURUptoDate, or join KCUR's Facebook discussion.

HEAR MORE: Wes Crenshaw appears Thursday evening at 6:30 at the Kansas City Library Plaza branch, 4801 Main Street, Kansas City, Mo. A 6 p.m. reception precedes the event. Click here for more details and to RSVP.
