Overland Park Annexation Faces Opposition

OVERLAND PARK, KS – The opposition to Overland Park's proposal to extend its boundaries by almost 9,600 acres has been called a "rural tsunami." The proposal would expand the city by almost 25 percent, bordered by Lackman road on the west, US 69 on the east and about a half mile beyond 199th street.

Overland Park officials and supporters say the growth will take place whether this particular proposal passes or not. KCUR's Laura Ziegler has more.
