Movie Documents Life of Injured Iraq Vet from KC

By Frank Morris

KANSAS CITY, MO –
When a soldier or Marine dies in the line of duty, local media outlets scramble to prepare obituaries looking at their lives and sacrifice. But when U.S. troops are paralyzed in Iraq or Afghanistan, their loss, and the hardships placed on their families, usually escape public view. A documentary opening in larger cities nationwide in the next few weeks casts a bright light on the sacrifices of one such soldier. Body of War follows a Kansas City man whose life was turned upside down after an AK-47 round ripped through his spine in Iraq. KCUR's Frank Morris reports.
