Two of the four constitutional amendments on Missouri's 2014 Election ballot passed Tuesday, and two did not.
What passed:
- Amendment 2 passed easily, and will allow prosecutors to use prior sexual crimes and arrests in cases of sexual crimes against a minor.
- Amendment 10 wasn't approved quite as handily, but this highly politicized amendment ultimately did get passed by voters. It will limit the Governor's ability to withhold funds based on state budget estimations, instead requiring them to withhold based on real figures.
The two that didn't pass:
- Amendment 6 would've created six extra days of early voting for Missourians, but didn't allow for weekend or off-business hour voting. It was resoundingly rejected.
- Amendment 3 would've made Missouri teachers' contracts subject to termination should student evaluations not meet state standards. It would've also limited all teacher contracts to three years or less. It was resoundingly rejected as well.
